Additional Information
You will receive the crystal pictured. Please understand that crystals are naturally formed in the earth, and no two are the same. That being said, once carved and polished, there may be naturally occurring imperfections such as natural cracks, chips, blemishes etc., which make them unique. We do our best to take multiple pictures and video to show all aspects of a crystal. Pictures are taken in natural lighting so color and shading may look different in different lighting. Measurements provided are approximations so please refer to pictures of crystal taken with ruler, or a quarter for smaller pieces, to have a clearer understanding of the size of the crystal you are choosing. If you have any questions about a specific crystal, please reach out to us before purchasing. Our email address is peaceatthebeach7@gmail.com. We will be happy to send you additional video and/or pictures upon request or answer any questions you may have. Thanks so much for your understanding; and thank you for visiting our shop, too.
Citrine Versus Heat Treated Amethyst
While both can appear yellow or orange, the key difference between citrine and heat-treated amethyst is that citrine is a naturally occurring quartz with its yellow color, while heat-treated amethyst is originally purple amethyst that has been changed to yellow or orange through a heating process, making the natural citrine generally more valuable than the treated amethyst. Most citrine on the market is actually heat-treated amethyst. Heat treated amethyst and citrine have identical properties. All citrine was amethyst once, the only difference is that the amethyst was gradually heated under the Earth's crust rather than in a laboratory. Natural Citrine crystals are the same color all the way through, although there may be slight color variations throughout the crystal. Heat Treated Amethyst will typically have a white color usually at the base which is a clue that it is heat treated amethyst.
